The first series of Arcus-bows was made in three generations. In 1999 we painted the stick black and they had no engraving. The ARCUS brand was first engraved in 2002.

From 2003 on we no longer painted the stick. They received engravings of their model name. To further improve the balance we changed all frogs to the new, slanted style which we had introduced with the Sinfonia and Cadenza bows.
From 2004 to 2007 the third generation of this series was made. Their stick was a bit slimmer and they got a deeper camber. Also the head was new, larger, and wider with a more modern shape. A little weight was added to shift the sound spectrum to the warmer side.

In 2004 we developed the Veloce. It was a little heavier and more flexible which suits smaller violas nicely as they draw a darker sound. What we learned with this type and the Allegro lead us to the development of the M-series bows in 2008.

The Allegro was made in 2006 and 2007. It is the direct precursor to the M-series bows and matches smaller violas with a brighter sound.
