Cello Bows

The use of endpins and steel strings have changed the playing and the sound of the cello in quite a dramatic way and has given it added brilliance and power. The Arcus cello bows are the first bows that allow you to use this potential completely. Their sticks are both much stronger than wooden sticks and lighter. This provides ultimate agility and elegance, an effortless playing, instant response on all strings and significantly improved playing comfort.
They pull a clean and open sound that can be very soft and extremely powerful. The sound in the upper registers is brilliant and shows a beautiful range of overtones.

Bass Bows

The perfect bass bow needs to fulfil five rather different requirements. Firstly, it needs a good response, on all strings and in all registers, as this is always an issue on the largest of our beloved string instruments. Secondly, it must sound clear and open. Thirdly, it must sit firm on all 4 or 5 strings but also bounce easily, which is quite a challenge given the large differences in the mass (weight) of the strings. Fourthly, it should sit well in the hand and put as little strain as possible on the player's hand and arm, because playing the double bass is strenuous enough. Last but not least, it should be robust and immune to climate and humidity.
These are probably the first bass bows that fulfil all five criteria and so maybe we should not be surprised that the demand for our bassbows has been so high over these past years but keeps growing still.
