Hello again, Bernd!
I finally purchased an Arcus bow! I ended up buying an S6 octagonal bow. I tried all the four series back in November at the VSA convention and decided I prefer the S-series and T-series bows. [...]
Fast forward six months I'm still not happy with any of my pernambuco bows. The one I most prefer is an old Tourte copy that weighs just under 50 g but is very flexible. I love the way it feels, how easy it is to control, and how can get so much nuance out of it when I play softer notes. But it has quite poor projection and the tone is thin. By this time I realized that what I really want to try is a very light but very stiff bow. So I purchased the S6-octaganol bow just to see how I like it. And the short answer is, I'm loving it! It is everything I hoped it to be - light enough to be easy to control and to give me a much greater range of nuance on softer notes yet stiff enough to give excellent projection and rich, resonant tone. There's no doubt that this will be my primary bow for years to come!
Thanks,
Buddy Thompson
